Contributions by TV&P to the IFTA Arbitration Award Enforcement Booklet 2007
February 18, 2008

The Independent Film & Television Alliance, Los Angeles, publishes an Arbitration Award Enforcement Booklet, which provides its members with guidance on the possibilities of enforcement of IFTA awards in comparison to court judgements. IFTA Member list includes Buena Vista Television, Dream Entertainment, Gaumont, Miramax International, TF1 International, Bank of Ireland, Natexis Banques Populaires, U.S. Bank, Union Bank of California, N.A. etc.

Thanks to the nearly global acceptance of the New York Convention the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards and the lack of international legal instruments on the recognition and enforcement of court decisions the resort to international arbitration is often not only the more efficient choice, but the only one, which could be recommended.

The IFTA represents producers and distributors worldwide, but its arbitration service is open to any persons or organisations. For more information contact Richonda Starkey, Arbitral Agent, at rstarkey@ifta-online.org, Independent Film & Television Alliance, 10850 Wilshire Blvd., 9th floor, Los Angeles, CA 90024-4321 USA, T: +1-310-4461047

In the IFTA Booklet the TV&P contributions are found on the following pages: Germany, pp. 32 to 39; Russia, pp. 65 to 70; United Arab Emirates, pp. 83 to 85. Click here to download in PDF format.
